A bit about me

Hi. My name is Julie and welcome to my blog. I’m a stitcher living in Brisbane, Australia.

I’ve been sewing since I was little with encouragement and presents of sewing equipment from my mother all these years. My earliest sewing memory is also of a mistake. I was about 8 and sitting in the lounge room hand sewing. After finishing I realised that I’d sewn the project to my nightgown!!

Lately I’ve been focusing on developing some finer skills… because let’s face it… it’s not like I sew because I NEED clothes in a hurry.

I started this blog as visual representation of what is happening in my head all day (the design process) and what I spend a lot of my time doing (pattern making and sewing).

  1. I have just found your blog via BurdaStyle and I have really enjoyed looking through all of your projects. I too live in Brisbane and love to see what everyone is sewing and blogging about in this lovely city.

    • Hi Marjorie
Thanks for the compliments 🙂 Yeah, I love seeing what other people are doing too. It gives me so much inspiration!!

      • Hi Julie,
Myself and several other girls who blog here in Brisbane, are organizing a get together on Sunday, March 30th. We are planning to have a High Tea and for everyone to meet and to talk sewing. We have not settled on a venue yet but hoping to find somewhere at Southbank and this should be sorted in the next week. If you are interested could you please email me – mtrundle@bigpond.net.au
It would be lovely to meet you and for you to meet othe fellow bloggers. I don’t have a blog but I am a Burdastyle member and post my sewing projects there. I follow quite a few sewing blogs and it is obvious that there are a lot of Brisbane and Gold Coast bloggers. So it will be great if we can get as many of you all together under one roof.
I hope this finds you happily sewing.

      • Yes, yes, yes!!! Will email you 🙂
        Thanks for thinking of me.
